1. About the Small Grants:

Small Grant is one type of funding window of BTFEC where an individual, agency, community or an institution have direct and quick access to grants in-order to provide prompt and effective responses to environmental issues. The Small Grant provides opportunity for agencies and individuals to address urgent but small environmental issues thereby creating healthy environment in which to live, learn and work and for the flourishment of biodiversity.

The following are the purposes of the Small Grants

  • allow the proponents to have quick and easy access to conservation grants that addresses urgent but minor environmental issues.
  • conduct small scale research and pilot new and innovative environment friendly technologies.
  • create environmental awareness to realize larger environmental impacts.

Grant proposals can be submitted at any time of the year in the prescribed template.

2. Eligibility & Requirements:

Any agency, institution, community, individual that are Bhutanese are eligible for the grant. The grant should fulfill the one or more of the purposes as mentioned above.

Proposal from agency and institution should be approved by their respective Heads and should submit with an official forwarding letter.

Proposal from individual working in any agency (public or private) should have No Objection Letter (NOL) from their agency

Proposal must be submitted in the prescribed template fulfilling all the requirements in it.

The proposal should be within the budget ceiling of Nu. 400,000.
