- PhD or Masters degree in environmental management or natural resources management from an accredited university;
- Specialized training in major environmental issues of Bhutan;
- Minimum five (5) years experience managing environmental program(s);
- Minimum five (5) years experience supervising professional staff;
- Demonstrated ability to create, lead and motivate a cohesive program team;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, consultants and leaders of other conservation organizations;
- Strong oral and written skills in Dzongkha and English

- PhD. or Masters degree in economics, finance or business management from a globally reputable university;
- Minimum of seven (7) years work experience in at least two of these areas: (a) project-based financial management, (b) organizational budgeting and oversight, (c) financial monitoring of grant administration, (d) endowment investment management;
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial professionals, delegate responsibilities and share information;
- Working knowledge of the principles of investing;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Ability to publish articles in professional journals and/or participate in associations to maintain a professional profile in the field;
- A desire to keep abreast of professional developments through regular specialized training and professional interaction;
- Demonstrated personal integrity;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with colleagues and other professionals;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dzongkha and English;
- Knowledge/experience in environmental conservation and economic development highly desirable but not required.
